We are accommodating more cyclists this year, Nigel and his wife Jenny are on their second visit, Nigel (pictured) is a very experienced road and mountain biker, and so I was a little nervous joining him and our friends Kevin & Siobhan, also very experienced cyclists for a ride out last Friday.

Starting in Saint Saturnin Les Apt at 357 metres we rode via Javon to Sault for a coffee stop. All ok is this point! From here we headed north towards Montbrun les bains, Aulan, and then turning south easterly and climbing to the ‘Col de Mevouillon’ at 890 metres.

We then headed for Sederon, a handy stop as the fountain has drinking water!

From here we started to climb again to the ‘Col de la Pigière’

And just when I thought we had done all the climbing it was the ‘col du Negron’ , very beautiful but a very tough climb.

From here we began the ride homewards- and into the Vaucluse, Revest du Bion , Rustrel and back to Saint Saturnin! Boy was I pleased to be home. A great ride, amazing scenery and ready for the next challenge!
