Saint-Saturnin Les Apt
Sometimes beauty is found on your door step!
We took a couple of hours on Sunday to wander around the village, up to the chateau at the top of the village, past the reservoir and windmill and back into the cobbled streets of the village.
Through the archway will lead you to the ramparts and some of the older houses many of which date back 500 years!
Rue Pasteur – where our lives in Saint Saturnin began.
The cobbled steps and stony pathways lead to the top of the village where there is a chateau and attached chapel – spectacular views!
The church spire with Perreal hills behind.
Fabulous views over the village and surrounding valley.
The ‘Chapel’ dates to the 10th century and is open for occasional concerts and on Sundays in July & August to visit.
The interior has been tastefully restored.
I love this angle of the Chapel with the Cyprus trees and Luberon behind.
The windmill has been restored and gives stunning views to the west.
The ‘barrage’ or reservoir, was once the source of water for the village.
The church spire and chapel with Mountain de Vaucluse behind.
One of the many cobbled streets.
Saint-Saturnin Les Apt is also renowned for its many fountains, how many have you spotted?
A lovely square where you can sit and take in the view.
Why not come and explore our lovely unspoilt village?
