Take the D179 then D22 heading north easterly , stop for an ice cream in Simiane la rotonde and take in the peace and tranquility of this small perched village before you arrive in Banon.
Famous for its cheese ( typically Goats cheese wrapped in chestnut leaves) and also the book shop Le Bleuet, literally stocking thousands of books this village is very appealing with several good restaurants and bars as well as a famous delicatessen selling a huge variety of saucisson. Market day is Tuesday.
There are superb views as you climb the ramparts to the top of the village at the top of which is a large church which also houses art exhibitions in summer.
Many villages houses are hundred of years old and several retain the lovely doors and knockers as pictured.
You can easily pass a day here, arrive in the morning for coffee, walk around the village before lunching and then explore further after lunch or return via Simiane or Viens also worth a visit.
