Whether you drive or cycle you the Gorge de Nesque is well worth exploring. I was lucky to share the experience with one of our loyal clients and very experienced cyclist, Harvey Spirit, the route out of the village on the D 943 passes Javon, a short way after which you turn left and head towards Methamis , from here it’s on to Villes sur Auzon, an ideal coffee stop , and then you take D942 signposted the Gorge de Nesque.

Peaceful roads almost free of cars, fabulous scenery and dramatic landscapes – simply beautiful.
Gentle climbs starting at 275 metres rising to 675 metres as you approach Monieux.

from here it’s on to Sault and the journey home. Cycling time is just over four and a half hours, about 100 kilometres round trip , a fabulous ride !
