We are often asked whether its possible to go hiking from the village and the answer is a resounding YES!
This folder contains 20 walks starting in the village ranging from 2kms to 19kms, truly something for everyone. They are all very well marked and will give spectacular views over the region.
We have been ‘walking’ our way through the maps and have accomplished many ,
although not yet the 19 kilometre one!
On Sunday we did half of map 10, what we call the ‘half Travignon walk’. ( Travignon being a long deserted village) The full walk is 13K and they suggest 5 hours.
We did 7K in in just under two hours despite warm temperatures.
This walk starts at our house, heading up Chemin de Romanet,
where there are great views of the village and Luberon,
After a couple of kilometres climbing we turn off the route to Travignon,
where we descend into the valley and much welcome shaded paths.
The chart above shows our ascent and descent!
Heading East and down to the path below.
Looking South, towards the Luberon, this is the path we will join.
good footware is essential as the paths are stoney and dry
On Sunday, although a little hazy, it was hot, about 27 degrees,
the views over Villars and towards the Grand Luberon were excellent
looking forward to a beer on our return.
great views of cherry orchards, olive groves and the village as you return home.
This is one of the 20 walks we highly recommend.
