A significant number of the grapes grown locally are taken to Sylla, the local wine co operative in Apt, producing vin de pays de Vaucluse and vin de pays d’Apt wines. Formally these were known as either a cote de Ventoux or Luberon depending on which side of the Calavon river the grapes came from.

They offer an excellent choice of white, rosé and red wines plus a number of sparkling wines for a special celebration. Prices start at around 6€ a bottle or you can go for the less expensive option of buying on ‘vrac’ – take along your jerrycan – you can fill up for about 2€ a litre and its not bad!

There is also an excellent brasserie style restaurant serving a cheese or charcuterie platter (choice of 4 or 8 cheeses) and a special platter combing the two.

Todays special included a pancake filled with cheese and chirozo – it was delicious!
