Whether you wish to drive round or cycle the Gorge de Nesque traces the south facing slope of Mont Ventoux. It is quite spectacular with a diverse land scape of forest & rocks with stunning views.
I cycled from home taking the D943 in the direction of Sault.
This road steadily rises from 375 metres in Saint Saturnin to just under 800 metres when you turn off onto the D5 descending into Methamis, not before passing this impressive former chateau in Javon

The road is quiet and peaceful, today just a dozen or so cyclists, a few motorcycles and one or two cars.
