The Perreal hill is on the west side of Saint Saturnin Les Apt and the walk gives spectacular views in all directions.
From our house we walk the 800 metres to the village and then continue straight across opposite the bar du Platane.
At the end of the road, turn right and traverse across towards the Perreal passing Domaine des Andeols. A short wayalong from here its a left turn and the climb begins.
A recent rain storm has bought all sorts of debris down the stoney track, but its dry and with good walking shoes easily navigated.
Oh and a little limbo might be needed!
This is one of the many viewing highlights looking North over the valley with Mont Ventoux in the distance.
And to the west over Roussillon with the petit Luberon and beyond Les Alpilles – stunning.
At the top a chapel and picnic benches .
From here you start the descent, now on the south end of the hill you then head round to the Eastern side where there are great views towards St Sat, Villars and the Monts Vaucluse.
There is a panorama board and an abandoned house which Karen thought would make a great project!!
From here its onwards back towards the village passing one of our favourite cabanons.
And passing lots of vineyards and back up into the village, where you could call into one of the bars for a refreshment!
And then the final walk back home totalling just under 12 kilometres.
Go and enjoy!
