Many of our guests over the last year have seen the outstanding work carried out by this lone workmen re constructing the dry stone wall that retains our neighbours garden.
Michel, aged 67 started the work on the 3rd November 2014, laying and cutting by hand one ton of stone a day which was delivered twice daily.
Michel worked through all weather, from well below freezing to plus 39 degrees c. He took just a couple of weeks holiday. He always arrived at 8am, left as the clock struck noon for lunch returning at 13.30 and working through to 17.30.
So finally at the end of August, 250 tons of stone later the wall is complete and what a fantastic piece of craftmenship it is.
